THE WINDS OF VARISYN (working title)
Status: With alpha readers, almost ready to send to a professional editor
Plan: To query in early 2026
On the lush, luminescent world of Varisyn, the winds whisper many stories to those willing to listen. Now, they carry the tale of Elina Solai, a human Vivimancer who uses her illegal magic to heal those afflicted by a mysterious Blight. When Elina is exposed to the very Fae who have outlawed the use of magic in humans, she is forced to join the Thornveil Alliance.
The rebel group of humans and Fae have a clear mission—to take down the nobility, including the queen Elina once loved, before their greed destroys not only the human race but Varisyn itself. For magic is a finite resource, and it is running out.
As Elina trains to understand and use her powers, she must contend with the violence of rebellion, the darkness in her past, and a forbidden attraction to her handsome, lethal Captain. But after a mission to the palace goes terribly wrong, Elina realizes that on Varisyn, nothing is as it seems, and she must uncover the insidious secrets of the United Realm before she loses everything.
THE WINDS OF VARISYN is a romantic fantasy novel for readers who love the lush nature-based magic and LGBTQIA+ representation of THE JASMINE THRONE, the exploration of mental health and mentor–trainee romance of DAUGHTER OF NO WORLDS, and the visually stunning world, themes of human oppression, and found family dynamics of ACOTAR.

FIRST PAGE
The winds of Varisyn whispered to Elina Solai. They told her a story made of campfire smoke, the musk of draft beasts, and faint, steady snoring. They caressed her skin and told her it was time.
Time to risk her life. Time to fight back against the Blight, in what small way she could. She crept toward the supply caravan as the final rays of light faded from the sky and the shimmering, luminescent colors of the nightbloom lit the Everwood.
The Fae guard who leaned against the iron wheel of her targeted wagon had drooped forward and his chin rested against his broad chest. His breath whistled out and his chest heaved in the deep rhythm of drugged sleep. Elina reminded herself to thank Sela for the potent, powdered lotus root.
The intelligent eyes of the cavalyn stallion tied to the wagon focused on her, and she placed one finger against her lips. The beast shifted, and the glow of his iridescent hooves lingered in the moss for a heartbeat before fading, as if the ground needed a moment to forget it had been touched. His silver coat glittered like moonlit frost and prisms of violet light refracted through the curve of his crystalline antlers.
